Upland Hunting - Grouse and Woodcock
Maine has tremendous upland shooting for the king of game birds, the
Ruffed Grouse ("partridge" to us Maine folks!) and the elusive woodcock.
We provide guided hunts over our pointing dogs in river valleys, alder
and poplar runs, old farms and orchards in several areas of Maine, and
have lodging available. Our hunts are available as first-come,
first-served, and will be booked to capacity early, so call soon!
Black Bear
We offer bear hunting over bait and with
hounds, using Maine's premier bear outfitters, located throughout Maine. Hunts are guided and include all accommodations, guides,
transportation and meals. Success percentages are much higher than industry averages, and these outstanding
outfitters have long been established as the leading bear outfitters in Maine.
Whitetail Deer
Our outfitters here also provide excellent whitetail deer hunts. Hunting is done via ground
blinds, tree stands, or still-hunting. Guides, meals, transportation and all
services are included. Trophy bucks are produced in these remote areas of Maine
each season, and success rates are customarily much higher than the State
average.
Moose
Our moose hunts are guided hunts which include all amenities. Our success
rate after 15 years is 100%, including a 60-inch bull! Hunts are fair chase, and
done by glassing and calling. Extensive pre-season scouting is done to ensure
the success of all our hunts.
Recreation
Rounding out our Maine-based adventures is canoeing, mountain biking, and
hiking. We have several mountains and sections of the Appalachian Trail nearby
and love to hike with our customers. Hikes are adapted to our customer's
physical abilities, lunches included (we'll even carry the lunches!). |

Brook, Brown, and Rainbow Trout and
Landlocked Salmon
We
are an Orvis endorsed guide service, offering a broad-based variety of adventures here in Maine, with a
package to interest everyone! We offer fly-fishing on the mighty Kennebec River,
the jewel of the eastern United States! Brook trout, landlocked salmon,
rainbows, and browns. Our time on the world-famous Kennebec is split between wading the upriver
areas, where we also fly fish the Dead River and numerous remote trout ponds via
canoe and float-tube, and the lower sections of the River where we enjoy what
has been described as one of the best brown trout fisheries in the east.
Smallmouth and Largemouth Bass
Fly-fishing for both smallmouth and largemouth has become one of our customers'
favorite activities. We fish the Kennebec, several ponds and lakes in the
surrounding area, and have the services of one of the Northeast's leading
smallmouth lodges in eastern Maine. The lodge provides both European and
American plan packages. We will be happy to describe their services and forward
their brochure.
Striped Bass and Pike
When in season, striped
bass and northern pike are also offered.
Fly-Fishing
Instruction
Our personal
favorite: Fly-fishing instruction for all levels. Having a problem with your
casting or never cast a fly? Spend a day with us on the water and we'll
troubleshoot your problems or start you from scratch. Bring your own
gear or use ours. Casting, entomology, equipment assembly and care,
reading water, species discussion, and catch and release techniques are
among the topics addressed.
