Why should I use your services instead of booking a trip myself? By using our services, you receive the following; We fish and hunt with all of our outfitters prior to ever marketing their services, and continue to visit them periodically. This enables us to provide current, detailed information, gained from personal experience. There is no guess work to our evaluation of our outfitters. We will only use outfitters and lodges who subscribe to our vision of total satisfaction for every customer, every time. How much do your services cost? There are NEVER any costs for our services. Our fees are paid entirely by the outfitters that we represent. Do you offer trips without full time guides where we can bring our own food? We offer adventures for every budget. Self guided trips, where you provide and cook your own food, which are called European Plan packages, are available with several of our outfitters/lodges. We explain the differences very carefully, between allowing the outfitter to provide all services, including food and guides, versus addressing these areas by yourself. We are careful to ensure that clients understand that in some circumstances, our customers are far better served to let the professionals attend to all services, providing far better chances for success. We have family trips for trout, northern pike and walleye at different lodges. Outfitters at these locations are more than happy to provide advice and instruction, along with maps, tackle suggestions, and local knowledge.
Do you book my airfare as part of the trip?
Our
services can range from simply arranging your adventure with
the outfitter to handling all details of your trip,
including air travel, hotel information, complete directions
if traveling via vehicle, etc. We offer the services of one
of Maine’s most successful travel agencies, as well as the
most successful Canadian agent for flights originating in
the US, flying into Canada. From the time that you leave
your home until you arrive at the outfitters
destination, we
are there with you for every step of the journey, again at
no cost to you.
We encourage you to talk with us about sports travel in
succeeding seasons. Virtually on a daily basis, we are
booking and discussing adventures with existing and future
customers. For example, we are now accepting deposits and
arranging a hunt for a group of caribou hunters who will
accompany us on one of our “Hosted
Adventures” caribou
hunts in 2010. We maintain an ongoing and very extensive
backlog of clients who express interest in an adventure in
the coming year or beyond. We have a follow-up system in
place and, after initial discussions and mailing of
pertinent literature, we contact you at the appropriate
moment to start the process for your trip in plenty of time
to be sure that we can meet your window of time
requirements. We offer what are called “Hosted Adventures”
for those who prefer the simplicity of leaving the details
of travel to us. We meet the clients at a pre-arranged
location and they follow our lead from start to finish. We
make the process of traveling ( with or without firearms)
into Canada, Chile or Africa trouble-free by providing all
necessary documents, and assisting with the process of
dealing with Customs officials. We know where the “jump-off”
place is, we know where the hotels, dining, correct routes
for travel, and all the endless details of travel in today’s
world. We ensure that you are where you need to be, when you
need to be there, well-prepared and ready to begin your
adventure with us.
We have owned Fins and Furs Adventures since its inception twenty-three years ago. We are well-known and respected in our industry.
