McKenzie River Lodge - Labrador
Trophy Brook Trout and Landlocked Salmon
The McKenzie River Lodge in Labrador…wild, secluded and yours to explore!

A sport fishing haven spangled with pools, riffles and runs in the unspoiled nature of Labrador. The lodge is located at the head of the McKenzie River and is accessible by floatplane only. The McKenzie River flows for more than 30 miles before it empties in the immense Smallwood Reservoir.
We are located 125 miles northeast of Labrador City. Access to Labrador City can be made by road, via the 138 to Baie-Comeau, then by the 389 via Fermont. Several airline companies have daily flights to Labrador City from Montreal or Quebec City. We can also make travel arrangements by chartered flights, please inquire.
The Lodge can accommodate a maximum of 8 guests at a time in two cozy open space cabins (16’ x 24’) sleeping 4 persons. Each cabin has a shower, hot and cold running water, toilet, sink and wood stove to keep you warm. A diesel generator provides electricity to the lodge and cabins. The main Lodge has a kitchen, dining area, and living room to relax, close to the fire, after a memorable day of fishing. Meals are made with tasty and generous regional cuisine. In 2010 we added an outdoor gazebo. This is a great place to enjoy a morning coffee before you head out for a day of trophy fishing.
New in 2011: Two 18’ and two 21’ Hudson Bay Freighter canoes
These canoes will allow us to explore and fish new areas that were previously inaccessible.
This watershed is unique because it provides fishing opportunities for five species of gamefish. Speckled (Brook)Trout; Landlocked Salmon; Lake Trout; Whitefish and Northern Pike.
