Juncales Fishing Lodge
Southern
Chile
Rainbow and
Brown Trout |
"Juncales" in Chilean
spanish means "reed beds." Many of these reed beds encircle Lago or lake, Yelcho where this spectacular lodge is located. Situated in the
mountains of southern Chile, on the headwaters of the Rio Yelcho, this outfitter
offers old-world service with all modern amenities and best of all, trout
fishing that is nothing short of simply amazing.
Very large rainbows and browns are the order of business here, with float trips
on the River or fishing the lake from boats among your choices. Large
dragonflies are one of the principal foods for the big fish here, but from
mid-December through mid-March, the dry fly fishing is also superb. Guides are
English-speaking and most are natives of the area and fly fishermen themselves.
Given the similarity of hatches to those that we have here in the northeast,
familiar patterns will produce well. Early and late in the season, as the
hatching insects are just starting or ending, streamers are
very productive, and
the River holds many famous pools where anglers can sight-cast to large feeding
fish.
The lodge is
elegant and offers a warm atmosphere with glass-front wood stoves. Capacity in the main building is for six
fishermen, two to a room. An additional cabin will sleep two or three people.
The lodge faces the lake, with views of the glacier and the panoramic scenery as
you enjoy superb meals created by native chefs.
Assistance with travel arrangements is provided and the outfitter will meet
customers at the airport in Puerto Montt & Chaiten. All modern amenities and conveniences are
provided to ensure that this is truly the trip of your lifetime. Trout fishing
in Chile is the stuff that dreams are made of and will make memories to last
until you come back!!! Contact Us today for complete information!
