Broadback Fishing Camps

Northern Quebec

Brook Trout, Walleye, Northern Pike

Fly-fishing for tropy brook trout in Quebec, Canada.Thank you for your interest in Broadback Fishing Camps. Our association with the camps stretches back to 1986 and it is truly one of our very favorite places.

The Broadback has always enjoyed a well-deserved reputation as one of the last strongholds for huge brook trout left in North America. The River is reserved for fly-fishing only and offers deep pools and runs of slick water. In most areas of the River, water depth prohibits wading, so good leather boots are a necessity. Six, seven and eight weight rods are suggested and both floating and fast sink lines are also a good idea. Most late season fishing is done with large streamers and wet flies, but by all means bring all the flies that you own! Each year a different pattern seems to be the "hot" pattern. We are happy to provide samples of proven patterns if you tie your own flies.

Sunset from remote camp on Quebec fishing trip. The lake, which allows both spin and fly fishing, will produce huge pike and delicious walleye, as well as brookies. Fresh-caught walleye fillets will make a shore lunch a treat to remember until the next trip! The camps offer, clean, snug log cabins with cold running water, gas lights and wood heat. Hot showers and flush toilets are located in a central building in the compound. Meals are hearty, home-cooked and all you can eat. Cabin service is done daily and linens and towels are provided for you. Your guides are English-speaking and very knowledgeable of the area and it's flora and fauna. Access to the camps is via water and is very economical, offering a delightful boat ride through the spectacular Quebec bush country. Assistance with, travel directions from the states to the boat landing is provided, as is motel information.

The Broadback is offers a unique fishery for some of the largest brook trout available anywhere. Contact Us today and we'll help you reach the spot where your five-pound brookie is waiting!
